The 78^th Academy awards are upon us, this is when Hollywood turns in on itself to enjoy a bit of ego stroking and pompous strutting. I can’t complain too much, the industry gave us a few gems and a couple of good laughs this year.

Here’s my list with the old titles of the awards ( the new ones stink. Achievement in editing? What the hell is that?):

Best score: Munich, John Williams
Best song: “It’s hard out there for a pimp” Hustle and Flow
Best animated feature: Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-rabbit
Best animated short: One Man Band
Best short: Six Shooter (only one I was interested in seeing)
Best documentary: Murderball
Best documentary short: ***Have not seen any of these***
Best special effects: King Kong
Best director: Ang Lee
Best costume design: Memoirs of a Geisha
Best cinematography: Brokeback Mountain
Best art direction: Memoirs of a Geisha
Best film editing: Crash
Best foreign language film: Paradise Now
Best makeup: Chronicles of Narnia
